New Club Champion

Played as a gross competition on Sunday 13th June, with only 28 competitors after two late drop outs. The morning round was well contested with 4 Players shooting 77, Colin Channon, Stuart Bearman (Champion for the previous 3 years) Simon Hoyle and Dan Brown, one 78 Malcolm Stubley and one 79  Gavin Evans, it was still anybody’s guess as to who would be crowned as Champion.

With the wind stiffening in the afternoon it was expected that the scores would suffer as well as the standard of golf, but to their credit Simon and Stuart bettered their AM totals with rounds of 75 and 76 respectively, which made Simon the Winner with a 36 hole total of 151, by one shot from Stuart on 152 with Dan Jones third on 159.

New Course Record - AGAIN

After losing his course record to Dan Jones, Club Champion Stuart Bearman had a new target to attack, and attack he did in the Jim Sexton Trophy.  Stuart carded a gross 67 nett 62 and 45 stableford points, to beat the previous best by just one shot.  Most things went Stuart's way on Sunday apart from the final result, unfortunately he lost to Colin Rix on Count Back for the outright victory!  Well Done Guys!
